How to Appeal a Game Ban
Most ban appeals get ignored or denied. This method forces the platform to actually review your account — and it works way more often than a standard appeal.
Force a Full Account Security Review
Standard appeals go to a queue where an overworked support agent skims it in 30 seconds. This method triggers the platform's security team instead — they do a full, thorough account review. When they restore access, ban restrictions are often cleared as part of the recovery. Here's how:
You need servers in multiple countries to make this work. NordVPN — 74% off + 4 months free → (6,300+ servers in 111 countries)
Pick somewhere far from where you normally play — Japan, Brazil, South Africa, Germany. Connect via NordVPN and log into your game account 10+ times in a row. Even if you get in, keep logging out and back in.
Disconnect, switch to a completely different country. Spam logins again — another 10+ attempts. Do this across 3-4 different countries. Repeat daily for 2-3 days.
Now contact the game's support. Tell them you believe your account has been compromised. You've noticed suspicious logins from countries you've never been to. Mention that your other accounts (email, social media, other games) are also showing strange activity. Ask them to temporarily disable/secure your account while you clean up your devices. Use the template below.
After a few days, follow up saying you've secured all your devices, changed all passwords, and run full security scans. Ask them to reinstate your account. When they review and restore access, ban restrictions are often cleared during the security recovery process.
Email #1 — Request Account Disable (Send This First)
Send this right after doing the VPN logins. The goal is to get their security team to flag your account as compromised.
Email #2 — Request Account Reinstatement (Send After 2-5 Days)
Wait for their response to Email #1, or send this 2-5 days later. Now you're asking to get back in.
Where to Submit
Send your emails through the official support channels:
Customize Based on Your Situation
Click your scenario below for specific tips on what to adjust in your emails.
Key angle: Emphasize that any cheating software found on the account was installed by the hacker, not you. In Email #1, mention you're worried the hacker “may have installed unauthorized software or made modifications.” In Email #2, stress that you've done a clean install / removed all unknown programs.
Add to Email #2: “During my security cleanup I discovered several unauthorized programs that were installed without my knowledge. I have removed everything and done a clean reinstall to make sure nothing remains.”
Key angle: The “hacker” was responsible for any toxic messages sent from your account. In Email #1, add concern about “inappropriate messages being sent from my account.” In Email #2, express shock at what the unauthorized person said using your account.
Add to Email #2: “I'm horrified to learn about the messages that were sent from my account. That behavior does not represent me in any way. I've always valued being a positive member of the community.”
Key angle: The unauthorized user exploited bugs to gain advantages or currency. In Email #1, mention you noticed “strange in-game transactions and activity.” In Email #2, ask them to roll back any unauthorized changes.
Add to Email #2: “I've noticed some in-game transactions and activity that I did not authorize. Could you please review and reverse any actions taken during the period my account was compromised?”
Key angle: The multiple logins from different locations were the hacker, not you sharing the account. In Email #1, specifically mention “logins from multiple countries that aren't mine.” In Email #2, confirm you've secured the account and nobody else has access.
Add to Email #2: “I want to confirm that I am now the sole person with access to this account. I've changed all credentials, enabled 2FA, and revoked all other sessions.”
Key angle: This is actually the easiest scenario. You genuinely don't know what happened, which aligns perfectly with “someone else was using my account.” The hack explanation covers any violation you're unaware of.
Add to Email #2: “I'm still not entirely sure what the unauthorized user did with my account. Could you please review the activity during the compromised period and let me know if there's anything else I need to address?”

Method Didn't Work? Bypass the Ban Instead.
If the security review doesn't clear your ban, you can still play on a new account. But most game bans include a hardware ban (HWID) that follows your PC.
How to Appeal a Social Media Ban
Standard appeals rarely work on social platforms. This method triggers a security review instead — which actually gets results.
Trigger a Security Review to Get Your Account Back
Social media support barely reads standard appeals. But their security team takes compromised accounts seriously. By simulating suspicious logins with a VPN and reporting your account as hacked, you force a real review.
Japan, Brazil, South Africa — anywhere far from you. Log in 10+ times. Even if you get in, keep going.
New country, another 10+ logins. Do 3-4 countries over 2-3 days.
Email #1 — Request Account Disable
Email #2 — Request Reinstatement
Customize Based on Your Situation
Add to Email #2: “I noticed the hacker was using my account to send spam messages and follow/unfollow hundreds of accounts. I have never used automation tools or bots. That activity was entirely from the unauthorized user.”
Add to Email #2: “I'm disturbed to see content was posted from my account that violates your guidelines. I would never post that kind of material. Could you please remove any content posted during the breach period and reverse any related penalties?”
Add to Email #2: “The hacker may have changed my profile information to impersonate someone else. My real identity is [Your Name] and I'm happy to provide government-issued ID to verify. Please restore my original profile.”
Add to Email #2: “I'm still not entirely sure what the hacker did with my account. Could you review the activity during the compromised period and let me know if there's anything else I need to address on my end?”
Method Didn't Work? Create a New Account.
Platforms often IP ban you, blocking new accounts from the same network.
How to Appeal a Website or App Ban
Trigger a Security Review
Use NordVPN to create suspicious login activity from 3-4 different countries (10+ login attempts each, over a few days). Then contact support saying your account was hacked and ask for a temporary disable. When they review and restore, ban restrictions often get cleared.
