Many users have reported getting their Pinterest account banned for no reason. In this post, you will find step-by-step instructions on how to get unbanned from Pinterest and bypass any Pinterest ban and shadowban.
Pinterest lately has been going on banning sprees, and while, for the most part, they will ban people who break the rules and bots, there is a vast percentage of those accounts banned that never broke any rules or did anything wrong, leaving them in the dark, asking their self why did I get banned from Pinterest?
The first thing most people will do after they get banned on any platform is to make a new account, only to release that will get banned either instantly or after a few days. If you are one of those people, keep reading this post since I will show you how to get unbanned on Pinterest with the latest workarounds and bypasses, and I can assure you that at the end of this post, you will be able to use Pinterest again.
Many of you might be wondering, why don’t I reach out to Pinterest and talk to them to get my account back? There is no way you will get anywhere with their support team. I did hours of research around the internet specifically to see if anyone had bypassed the ban by contacting their customer service, but I didn’t find a case where this happened.
How to get unbanned from Pinterest?
Before we get into what you should do to bypass the Pinterest ban, let’s get into what it means to be banned or shadowbanned.
When you get banned on Pinterest, you will get a message that your account is Disconnected/Disabled/Banned, or you will get a message saying that you can not log in to your account anymore(for whatever reason).
That means any connection from your end to Pinterest servers will be denied, and you won’t be able to access their platform ever again.
On the other hand, being shadowbanned on Pinterest is unclear and sometimes challenging to understand. Being shadowbanned on Pinterest means that certain functionalities of your account are not working as they should but that you don’t get notified, so you will have to find out by yourself.
The truth is that bypassing the ban is not as easy as creating a new account with different details. Your phone, personal information, and unique network identifiers are flagged(IP Ban) and will automatically bind to any new account connected from the same device/network.
This post gets updated every Pinterest update to keep up with all the recent changes.
With that said, in this post, you will learn how to get unbanned on Pinterest in a few easy steps, as follows:

You are not encouraged to use these methods or techniques.
1. Clear all traces.
The first and most important thing you must do is ensure that all files and traces that could link you to the ban are gone from your mobile or desktop device.
On your Android phone, navigate to Settings > Manage Apps or Settings > Apps to access the complete list of installed apps. Look for Pinterest, Select it, and then press the uninstall option.
On IOS devices, navigate to Settings > General > iPhone Storage and choose to delete the Pinterest app.
If you are using Pinterest from your PC browser, I recommend getting a portable version of your favorite browser and using it only for Pinterest. You can find a portable version for almost any browser available. If you don’t want to do that, reinstall your current browser and clear all cache.
To clear the cache in your browser, follow these steps:
- Open the browser.
- Click the (3 dots)icon in the upper-right corner of the browser window.
- Select “More Tools.”
- Select “Clear Browsing Data.”
- Select all the checkboxes in the “Clear Browsing Data” window.
- Click “Clear Browsing Data.“
2. Get A New Phone Number Ready.
You cannot create a new account with the same number and not get banned instantly. So that means you will need a new phone number.
Google Voice numbers, TextMe Now app phone numbers, and most free apps or phone numbers you will find online are already recognized and flagged by Pinterest and almost all major social platforms and websites.
No worries, though; there are easy ways to get around this.
The first option is to register using a friend’s or family member’s mobile number and then ask them to send you the verification code to proceed with the registration.
The best option, in my opinion, is to get a cheap VoIP phone number to receive text messages from Pinterest for registration and verification purposes. This way, you have complete control over the number and decide how and when to use it without bothering anyone. You can get a cheap number from Tossable Digits or Hushed.
Another thing you could do is to go and get a new SIM card.
3. Get A New Email Address.
You won’t be able to create a new Pinterest account with the same email address. You will be instantly linked to the previous Pinterest ban, and your new account will be flagged and banned as soon as possible. You will need this Email for the next step as well.
Pretty easy to do; use your favorite email provider(Gmail, Yahoo, Protonmail, Zoho, AOL, iCloud, GMX, etc.) and find the section on the page where you can sign up for a new account, enter the required information, such as your name, Email, etc. and create a new account.
Once you are all set up, proceed to the next step.
4. Get A VPN Ready(PC + PHONE).
Your IP address is the most crucial security step that will even make or break everything you did above to bypass the Pinterest ban. The best way to change your IP address is to use a VPN service or a proxy server(Proxys need an excellent setup to avoid disconnections and unhiding your IP, so let’s stick with the VPN).
This is the most commonly asked question. Do I need a VPN? YES! You do. If you don’t use a new IP, your new account will get linked to your old Pinterest ban, and it will be banned or shadowbanned, sometimes instantly or after a few hours/days.
Why not use a Free VPN? Slow speed, your data may get leaked, and disconnections all the time can reveal your IP and get you banned instantly. Don’t believe me? Go ahead and try yourself.
I can’t find a completely free method because you will need a VPN 100%, but you can get NordVPN for 3.29$ per month, which is the best possible solution.
What you want to do now is :
- Download the NordVPN on both your PC/Laptop and your mobile device.
- Login to your NordVPN account.
- Navigate to the Settings -> Kill Switch, and make sure Internet Kill Switch is enabled.
- That will ensure that the internet will shut down in case of disconnection from the VPN for any reason, so your real IP address doesn’t get leaked to Pinterest.
- Once you’ve set up both VPNs, you can move on to the next step.
5. Create New Account. (Recommended on PC)
Now that we have everything we need to create a new Pinterest account let’s go ahead and create one.
I highly recommend creating your new Pinterest account on a PC(If possible) and not from the app on your mobile device. It will work either way, but to make everything easier and get the best results, please use your PC/Laptop.
No worries, you won’t be using it just from the PC; it’s a security measure to ensure your new account doesn’t get flagged.
How to create a new Pinterest account:
- Make sure you are connected to a VPN server on your PC/Mobile.
- Navigate to Pinterest’s official website and click Create Account.
- Enter your new Mobile Phone number & Email and proceed with the on-screen instructions to complete the registration.
- DON’T USE THE OLD PHONE NUMBER OR EMAIL IN ANY WAY.
6. Complete your profile carefully.
I want you to be very careful on this part and make sure you follow all my instructions and tips below to avoid getting banned again.
– Don’t link your other social accounts to this one.
If you used to have any of your social accounts linked and connected to Pinterest, please don’t ever connect the same social media accounts to this one. It will get you instantly banned or shadowbanned.
– New payment details
Make sure never to use your old payment method. Use a different card to complete any transactions later on.
– Don’t use the same pictures or clear the traces of OLD ones.
The truth is that if you upload your old pictures to your new Pinterest account, you will most likely be flagged after a few hours/days, and that’s because of the Metadata and the picture itself that bots can recognize.
I highly recommend you don’t use the same picture from your old Pinterest account, BUT if you have to, I will show you a method to not get linked to your previous Pinterest ban.
By following the steps below, you will be able to use old Pinterest photos on your new account without getting banned or shadowbanned:
- Change pictures, Metadata, and EXIF information.
- You can do that by visiting IMGonline, uploading your photos, clicking on OK, and then downloading the processed images with their Metadata / EXIF info deleted.
- Next, you can crop the images just a little bit or add a color overlay to the image(It doesn’t have to be visible). It won’t make a difference in the eye, but it will make a huge difference when a robot reads it because it’s an entirely different photo for them.
- If you follow the two steps above, the only way to get linked to your previous photos is by manual review of a human.
7. Age the account for a few days.
ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU ARE CONNECTED TO THE VPN.
Don’t forget that you just created your account, which means that you are a new user of the platform who is unfamiliar with how the platform works and how you should act. Always keep that in mind, at least for the first week.
Login from time to time, navigate through different tabs, log out and repeat after some time.
The golden rule for the first week is to avoid getting reported by someone for whatever reason, so please act accordingly!
8. Ready to go.
That’s it, and you are officially back on Pinterest!
If you want your stay to be longer than your last one, please read the rest of this guide with some times that will keep your account safe forever(hopefully)!
