Best NVidia Filters For Valorant in 2023

Last Updated on 1st February 2023

Visibility and colors on Valorant aren’t the best, making it harder for players to spot enemies and enjoy the game to its full potential. Gamers with NVidia graphics cards can access NVidia Filters from the GeForce Experience panel and customize their game looks in real-time.

Unfortunately, there is no way to access NVidia Filters for people utilizing an AMD or Intel graphics card. In this guide, we will go in-depth on setting up the best NVidia filters for Valorant, and in combination with the best settings for Valorant, you will make your game sharp & colorful and enjoy the game as you’ve never done before.

Before we get into how to set up NVidia filters for Valorant, let’s first talk about what Nvidia filters are.

Best NVidia Filters For Valorant in 2023

What are NVidia Filters?

NVidia Filters is a feature exclusively accessible by NVidia GPU owners, allowing you to customize a game’s appearance personally. By applying different post-processing filters and editing your favorite game’s colors, vibrance, and brightness in real time, you can expect a whole new experience while playing that game.

Best NVidia Filters for Valorant

As discussed above, visibility, sharpness, and colorfulness on Valorant could be better. That’s what we are going to do now. Below you will find the best NVidia filters for Valorant and how to apply them in-game using the Geforce Experience app.

The first thing you will need is the Geforce Experience app installed and ready on your PC. If you don’t already have it, navigate to NVidia’s official website, download it, and install it.

Now, open Geforce Experience and click on the “Gear Icon” in the top right corner.

Ensure “In-game Overlay” is enabled, and click on “Settings“.

Next, click on “Keyboard shortcuts“.

Set a keyboard shortcut that you would like to use to open up the in-game overlay. By default, it’s ALT + Z, so if that works for you, you might as well leave it as it is. If not, change it to your preferred combination.

Once you are ready, run Valorant, and get into a match.

This will not be just one of these guides where I tell you exactly what you should set everything to(Copy/Paste).

Instead, I will give you my personal favorite NVidia filters for Valorant, as well as a comprehensive range that you should play around with when setting up these filters.

Then, depending on your preference, monitor, and how you like Valorant to look, you can dial between the filters values that I give you as a guide and have the best possible result.

Press your “Keyboard shortcut” to bring up the overlay (Default = ALT + Z) and click on “Game Filter“.

How to bring NVidia Filters menu in game.

A window will show up on the left side of your screen. Choose one of the “Styles“. (They should all be empty)

We will be using a combination of four different NVidia filters to achieve the best results possible.

Click on “Add Filter” and choose Brightness / Contrast

Brightness and Contrast NVidia Filters.

The “Brightness / Contrast” filter will help us with the overall lighting problems of the game.

  • Exposure: from 0 to minus 10%
  • Contrast: 30-40%
  • Highlights: minus 100%
  • Shadows: minus 100%
  • Gamma: from 0 to minus 10%

What we did here is to first flatten the lighting of the image by bringing Highlights and Shadows filters to minus 100% by making the dark bits brighter and the light bits darker. Then, by setting the Contrast filter to 30-40%, we get back some of the contrast we lost from previous filters. You will see why we did this later on.

The next filter is going to be “Colour“.

This filter depends on your monitor, monitor settings, and in-game settings. So I would encourage you to play around with the “Colour” filter settings to find the best for you, but below, you can see my method of finding the best colors fast.

First, set “Tint Intensity” to 10% and “Temperature” to 0, and don’t change these settings again.

Now grab the “Tind” slider, put it on 0%, and start sliding to the right until you feel like you like what you are watching on the screen. Don’t overthink it since the final result will differ significantly from that. You want to have a good baseline here.

Once you choose the “Tind” value that you like, set your “Vibrance” between 50 to 100% and see which ones look best for you. Again, don’t overthink too much you can always come back and make minor adjustments, but for now, you want to build a good foundation.

The next NVidia filter we will apply is the “Details“.

This is where visibility and clarity come into play. Combined with the previous NVidia filters we applied, we will make Valorant look amazing.

  • Sharpen: 70-100% depending on your preferation.
  • Clarity: 90-100%.
  • HDR Toning: from minus 60% to minus 40%.
  • Bloom: 0%.

The closer you set the “Clarity” filter to 100%, the sharper the game will look and the better the visibility. Get “Sharpen” filter value between 70% to 100% depending on your likes, and watch Valorant transform.

HDR Toning” should be around -40% and -60% because if it is on the positive side, it can mess up with all the color settings and make the game look and feel completely wrong.

Bloom” should be turned down to 0% to eliminate the haziness it applies.

Best Details NVidia filters.

Last but not least “Sharpen” filter. Even though we’ve added sharpen on the “Detail” filter, we will add it separately on the “Sharpen” NVidia filter.

  • Intensity: Around the same as the sharpen on the “Detail” filter.
  • Ignore Film Grain: 0%

There’s not much to explain here because it’s mostly a personal preference. Still, I recommend setting it around the same percentage as the previous sharpen value for the best visibility and sharpness in Valorant.

Results

After following this guide, you can expect a much more beautiful, colorful, sharper graphics quality in Valorant. I feel like this is giving a competitive advantage to whoever uses it.

That’s it for this guide with the best NVidia filters for Valorant. Follow all the guidelines in this guide, and you should be good to go!

Remember that NVidia filters will drastically decrease your FPS when you activate them. The number of FPS you will lose depends on which NVidia filters you will use. For example, the “Clarity” filter tends to tank FPS while the “Colours” doesn’t. From my experience with different clients that I optimized their PCs, you can expect to lose anywhere between 5 to 40 FPS depending on your PC build, game, game settings, and filters that you use.
